SUB-STANDARD ELECTRICAL
PRODUCTS AND SERVICES
CAN CAUSE
FIRE, INJURY
AND DEATH
The latest available statistics* indicate that over 3500 fires yearly are classified as
“electrical”.
Fires may be caused by using sub-standard electrical products, by employing
incompetent contractors to carry out electrical installations or both.
There are many sub-standard products and services on offer in South Africa, usually at
seductive prices and in contravention of laws which are promulgated to protect people.
Providing such products and services is a crime. Using them is irresponsible.
If you are not sure of the product or electrical contracting service** you are considering
using, use those provided by Safehouse members.
Membership of the Safehouse Association is your assurance of suppliers’ commitment
to a code of conduct that demands compliance with regulations and all-round
responsible behaviour.
