Harrods
1
The Harrods department store
was originally opened in 1849
by Charles Henry Harrod as
an expansion to his East End
grocery and tea business.
The current building was built
in 1905. Harrods has got seven
floors and 330 departments that
showcase everything from high-
end fashion and accessories to
the finest home wears
and latest technology. There are
almost 30 restaurants in-store
and it has got a huge food court
as well. The department is full of
exclusive services such
as personal shopping and
The Penthouse, where you can
book one-to-one appointments
with designers. On an average
day around 100 000 people go
to shop at Harrods and during
Christmas-season Harrods might
have as many
as 300 000 shoppers.
