Exhibit Hall Grand Opening & President’s Welcome Reception

7:00 PM – 9:00 PM

All Annual Meeting attendees and their registered guests are invited to this event that will

take place in the Exhibit Hall. This reception provides an excellent opportunity to network with

your colleagues and meet with representatives from the exhibiting organizations in a fun,

relaxing environment. Enjoy the company of your peers and friends for light hors d’ouevres

and cocktails to kick off this year’s Annual Meeting.

Awards Ceremony & Keynote Address

10:30 AM – 12:00 PM

AOAC President Ronald Johnson, will present awards to individuals who have contributed to the analytical science

community and to AOAC. Presentations include the prestigious Harvey W. Wiley Award and Wiley Scholarship Award,

Fellows of AOAC awards, technical awards, and member service awards for those who have achieved the milestone

anniversaries of 5-, 10-, and 25-years of membership in the Association.

We are honored to have Dr. Wamwari Waichungo, Vice President, Global Scientific and Regulatory Affairs at

The Coca-Cola Company as the Keynote Speaker. In her presentation, Dr. Waichungo will discuss how the safety and

quality of our food supply is of critical importance especially due to the incidence of microbiological and chemical

safety issues, increasing consumer demand for transparency, difficult to detect contaminants and residues, food

authenticity/integrity/fraud and complex regulatory environment. AOAC provides an inclusive forum for consensus

building on analytical methods and standards to further enable food quality and safety. However more

rapid, sensitive, cost efficient, globally harmonized analytical methods are needed. In addition to

capacity building and outreach, especially in emerging countries.
