the Latin course required by the Rules now in
existence for the Preliminary Examination of
Candidates for Apprenticeship, provided, how
ever, that each such Candidate so desiring to
be examined in such substituted Latin course
shall give notice in writing of such desire when
lodging his papers for Preliminary Examination.
