Well, I’ve been taking the antidepressant for almost a month and
things are going so much better. I never noticed that people, even
teachers, avoided me during certain times of the month. Sarah and
I joke about that now. She teases me about the strange looks I get
every so often from someone now when I’m talking and smiling at
them. When I ask her what’s going on, she tells me I always fought
with those girls. It’s almost like I was this alien or something.
Now that I think about it, I know how lucky I was to have Sarah to
help me. I know she must have tried to make me look good as much
as she could. And boy, some kids must have thought she was nuts
hanging around with me. But she stuck with me, I guess because
we’ve known each other since we were little, and she hoped I’d come
