If the paramedics find that the patient is in
grave danger or they have to try to restart a heart,
they use another device called a
defibrillator
.
The heart works on an electric rhythm, so this de-
vice uses electricity to jump-start the heart. Para-
medics rub a special jelly on the patient’s chest.
Then they place a pair of paddles connected to
