Helping victims of crimes or police officers
can sometimes place paramedics in dangerous
situations. Usually the police won’t let paramedics
into an area until it is safe, but even so, some-
times a paramedic will don a bulletproof vest to
enter an area to help someone.
From the smallest band-aid to the largest res-
cue helicopter, from high-tech machines to low-tech
splints, paramedics have all the gear and tools they
need to save lives.
