SHERIDAN PUNCH
Some say this was named after General Philip Sheridan,
famous Union cavalry officer during the Civil War. Some
advance the claim of Richard Brinsley Sheridan, the Irish
dramatist; and there are advocates of Pat Sheridan, long
head houseman of the Waldorf, for the honor of being god–
father to this punch. WeH, they were "Jl Irishmen, or of
Irish descent, and an Irish barman composed the drink:
(lemonade)
Plain Lemonade
Whiskey on top
SHERRY AND EGG
(claret)
One-fourth glass Sherry
One Egg
Fill glass with Sherry
Serve with napkin
