Awards Ceremony & Keynote Address

|

 10:30 am – 12:00 pm

President Hill will present awards to individuals who have contributed to the analytical science community

and to AOAC. Presentations include the prestigious Harvey W. Wiley Award and Wiley Scholarship Award,

Fellows of AOAC awards, technical awards, and member service awards for those who have achieved the

milestone anniversaries of 5-, 10-, 25-, and 50-years of membership in the Association.

We are honored to have Gregory O. Noonan, PhD, Director of the Division of Bioanalytical Chemistry

at the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as the

Keynote Speaker. Dr. Noonan is the U.S. Delegate

to the Codex Committee on Methods of Analysis

and Sampling (CCMAS), and chairs the Working

Group on the Endorsement of Methods, so he has

an inside perspective on Codex Alimentarius and

its committees. In his presentation, Dr. Noonan

will discuss why methods of analysis are a critical

component to verifying that food meets both safety

and quality standards agreed to by international

trading partners. And, why working with standards

organizations, such as AOAC INTERNATIONAL,

is critical to ensuring newly developed methods

are properly considered by Codex Committees. His

presentation is entitled, “U.S. Participation in Codex

Alimentarius, the Role of Standard Developing

Organizations”. Please mark your calendars to join us

for this dynamic presentation!
