Skyhook Sport Suspens ion
Maseratis are renowned for their roadholding and handling, and these are two areas in which the GranCabrio Sport excels, thanks
largely to its innovative suspension system. When the driver presses the ‘Sport’ button on the dashboard, the car’s character is
transformed as it switches to a more sporty set-up that has been specially developed to enhance its roadholding abilities.The dampers
used in the Skyhook suspension have aluminium bodies and provide a constantly variable damping action. The system is controlled
by an ECU that receives data from the acceleration sensors on each wheel and the chassis. It instantly processes the information and
identifies the driving style, as well as the road surface conditions.The proportional valves installed in each of the dampers then allow
the software to regulate their set-up in response to the prevailing conditions.
Braking System
The GranCabrio Sport is equipped with a powerful braking system.The four ventilated discs are machined with four slots and sixteen
blind holes around the perimeter, which reduce stopping distances and make the braking performance more constant in the long
term.The slots help keep the brake pads clean and free from dust, and also break up the flow of water in the rain. Meanwhile the extra
holes disperse the heat and ensure that the pads wear in a uniform manner.
