installers or suppliers are present. Datwyler will also carry

out on-site splicing work if requested.

The distribution stations are made from concrete. They can

be supplied in different sizes, depending on the number of

connections needed, and with exterior facades individually

designed to blend in with the respective site environment.

The technical equipment comprises optical distribution

frames (ODF) as required, with pre-assembled patch

panels and pigtails if requested, in addition to lighting and

emergency lighting, various safety devices such as access

control, alarm system and fire extinguishing system, and an

air conditioning unit.

Slip free fine

wire drawing

machine

KJM GmbH has developed a new slip free fine wire

drawing machine, with each draw being single driven

and controlled by torque. This drawing principle

prevents wire surface damage and saves energy. The

drawing dies and drawing pulleys are also used for

much longer.

With single drives the system knows the situation of

each die and gives clear advice to the machine operator.

Each elongation can be different to the others, and

different elongations are automatically regulated by the

machine itself. The payoff is also fully controlled by the

machine.

The machine is easy to operate: simply pull the wire

through the dies, and press the start button.

KJM states that the greatest advantage is reduced

wire production cost, especially in stainless steel wire

production where up to 50 per cent of the former cost

can be saved. A diameter and surface defect checking

system is available as an option.

The machine can reach speeds of up to 35m/s. The

final wire diameter can be smaller than 20µm, and the
