Cypress Welding Equipment’s MM1 is a
computer-controlled, 2-axis machine that
automates the cutting of shapes, profiles
and holes in pipe with diameters of 2″ to
16″.
The machine’s pipe bed can accommodate
lengths of pipe up to 6ft, and additional pipe
bed extensions of 8ft can be added to make
up to a 32ft bed. The machine rotates the
pipe on its roller bed with a three-jaw chuck,
while simultaneously moving a cutting torch
back and forth along the pipe’s axis.
Pre-programmed shapes, such as saddle,
hillside, lateral and mitre cuts, can be made
by selecting the type of cut from a menu,
entering the diameters of the pipe being
processed, and pressing the run button to
cut the pipe. Irregular or uncommon shapes
can be plotted, programmed and saved for
future use.
The machine is designed to eliminate the
need for templates and layout, reduce fit-up
time and make immaculate machine cuts.
