The First Annual General Meeting of the

Association was held at 33 Molesworth

Street, Dublin, on 27th February, 1924.

Mr. Arthur Julian (Cork) occupied, the

Chair, and there was a large and representa

tive attendance.

Messrs. Laurence J. Ryan (Thurles) and

James J. Lynch

(Kells) were

re-elected

Hon. Secretaries.

The Report of the Hon. Secretaries for the

year 1923 was read and adopted, and it was

directed that the same be printed and cir

culated amongst the Provincial Solicitors,

Saorstat Eireann.

The

following

resolution was

passed

unanimously :—

" That inasmuch as the Country Solicitors

are vitally interested in the Rules to be made

for Circuit and District Courts under the

Judiciary Bill, that Sections 63 and 87 of

the Bill should be amended by providing

that the Rule Making Authorities there

under include two Solicitors nominated by

the

Incorporated Law Society, and

two

Solicitors nominated by the General Council

of

the

Provincial Solicitors" ;

and a

Deputation was appointed to wait on the

Attorney General and put the views of the

Council before him.
