Continue to work on behalf of the City

Health Services to establish pilot
projects in relation to an alternative,
more efficient approach for Fire Ser-
vices and Ambulance Services involve-
ment in responding to medical emer-
gencies in Surrey.
Commence construction of the new fire department Central Training Facility
classroom and office building. Construction is expected to begin in late February
2017. The new building will contain 4 classrooms, 6 offices and support rooms. Once
the building is completed in May 2018, it will allow the fire department to deliver a
variety of training to fire department staff, city staff and other groups.
Implement Risk Based Fire Inspections
Model developed to efficiently focus
resources to increase safety compliance
particularly for high risk, low compli-
ance occupancies in the City;
Research and report on Social
Analytics: Predictive Modeling of Fire
Risk in Residential Neighbourhoods.
The department will develop a
comprehensive, in-depth platform in
order to model fire risk in Surrey; and
Implement Self Compliance Reporting
of Fire Inspections Community Property
Safety Team (“CPST”) development
and implementation. The CPST is the
outgrowth of the Distressed Properties
study and aims to effectively manage the
impact of abandoned and distressed prop-
erties on residential neighbourhoods.
