I did my Masters and Bachelors degrees in sculpture from the
Faculty of Fine Arts from M.S. University, Baroda. My inspiration
comes from architecture and nature. I have been taught by Ray
Meeker, Deborah Smith, Peter lllsley and Sandy Brown.
I have exhibited internationally and nationally &
have won the Charles Wallace scholarship in 2001.

I use a formalistic approach to create ceramics with
delicate glazes, which is informed by my curiosity
in both art-historical imagery and philosophy. The
garba-griha
and
lingam/yoni
forms in Indian temples
have triggered questions related to creation, sexuality,
sublimity and spirituality. The Temple Series emerged
from this intensely spiritual experience, differentiating
itself from religion. This series evokes an expression of
peace, experienced through the form and its minimal
tones of white, associative with faith and meditative
energy. The lotus is another symbolic motif that I use
to represent feminine sexuality and the generation of
new life.
