Omaha-born dancer, musician, and actor Fred Astaire (1899–1987) was one of
the greatest American stars of all time. He made his dancing debut with his older
sister Adele Astaire (1896–1981) at age five, going on to perform in more than 30
musicals over the course of a career that spanned more than three-quarters of a cen-
tury.

William Jennings Bryan (1860–1925) was a powerful figure in
