ST EDWARD’S CHRONICLE
Team Spirit
At the end of term, Simon Roche and Gavin Turner took the Segar’s
Lower Sixth to Winspit Quarry in Dorset for their Prefect training.
Showing great spirit and camaraderie, the boys spent a weekend
cooking on a fire, sleeping under the stars, rock climbing and
playing cricket, and are now well prepared to work as a group
to lead the House this year.

“I would like to thank the 1st VIII (and above all
Jonny Singfield) for teaching me the greatest
lesson of all time: the importance of unity,
teamwork and dedication. Learning how to push
beyond barriers, beyond your personal comfort
zone, and aspiring to the seemingly impossible
has become my most valuable skill and I owe
this entirely to Teddies. In hindsight, the greatest
feeling I have had thus far is losing in the Henley
Final last year. It may sound perverse, but knowing
that every single member of the crew had given
more than they thought possible in the name of
Teddies is a memory I will cherish forever.” Oscar
