Labelling solutions

Barcode printer manufacturer cab is setting

new standards in developing andmanufactur-

ing devices and systems for product labelling

and product marking.Technical sales manager

for southern Africa, Rudie Buys affirms the

company’s support for the region’s custom-

ers. “cab provides on-the-spot support for our

customers in chemical, food, agricultural and

manufacturing industries, who rely on our

high quality standards”, he says. The USA Oc-

cupational Safety & Health Administration's

new labelling requirements are expected to

have the greatest impact on internationally-

based chemical manufacturers, with few

mandatory changes proposed for other gen-

eral chemical storage. HCS targets chemical

manufacturers and importers to ensure their

chemical containers will display a label similar

to those now used in Europe and many other

Globally Harmonised System (GHS) adopters,

beginning June 1, 2015.

Coriolis flow in efficient two-wire technology

Process monitoring is becom-

ing more demanding and the

need for maximum product

quality is steadily increasing.

This is why

Endress+Hauser

continues to provide industry-

specific flow measurement

solutions optimised for future

technology requirements. The

new generation of our Proline flowmeters is based on a uniform

device concept. This means time and cost savings, as well as maxi-

mum safety over the entire plant life cycle. In the chemical process

industry, Coriolis flowmeters have been used for decades with great

success. This is in no way astonishing, because this measurement

technology has unique advantages in comparison to other methods:

• Independent of physical fluid properties such as conductivity,

pressure, temperature, density or viscosity

• One-of-a-kind multi-functionality – simultaneous measurement

of mass flow, volume flow, density and temperature

• Maintenance-free devices without moving parts

• No inlet and outlet runs required

• Operable flow range of up to 1000:1

• Insensitive to external process influences such as pipe vibra-

tions

• High field accuracy, even with greatly fluctuating process and

ambient conditions

Proline is a proven and uniform product concept, designed to do

the same things the same way, thereby increasing the safety and

efficiency of your operations. The Human Machine Interface (HMI)

and subsequent device set-up and programming are user-friendly

through and through. This ensures that your process can be securely

controlled with confidence and can be integrated seamlessly into

your plant asset management, providing reliable information for

optimising production and business processes. The Promass 200 has

been developed for SIL2/3 applications and has internationally rec-

ognised Ex approval including the local SouthAfrican requirements.

ROUND UP

FLOW MEASUREMENT

On 1 June 2015 a new global system

will be adopted for labelling in the

chemical industry, known as the

Globally Harmonised System (GHS) of

Chemical Labelling.This initiative is a

system developed by the United Na-

tions (UN) to strengthen international

efforts concerning environmentally

sound management of chemicals.
