More than SIL – risk control
starts with reliability
Any process management system is efficient with reliable
instrumentation.
Endress+Hauser
helps you to reduce the risk
in basic process control as well as safety applications with safe
instrument design. For us, safety always comes first and starts
with safe design and manufacturing based on certified products,
people and processes.
Benefits
• Products: SIL devices are extensively tested and indepen-
dently assessed
• Process: intensively pursued functional safety development
process
• Sustainability: strategic functional safety management with
continuous improvement
Since 1999 we have extended our safety oriented instrument
offering to include Safety Integrity Levels up to SIL3.
Time-of-Flight level measuring instruments, vibronic point
level switches and hydrostatic level devices are examples of
our broad portfolio developed according to IEC 61508 and
independently assessed by TÜV Rheinland. Features include
self-diagnostics and proof testing that help to increase process
safety and plant availability.
Our certified functional safety management includes a quality
and safety policy to allow permanent and systematic verification
and improvement.

Level sensor in
hygienic design
For sanitary applications,
WIKA
has developed
a magnetostrictive level sensor in hygienic
design. The model FLM-H sensor, certified in
accordance with 3A Sanitary Standards, meas-
ures level in tanks and vessels with an accuracy
of < 0,5 mm.
The level is detected continuously, regardless
of any physico-chemical changes of state in
the media, such as foaming or boiling effects.
This measuring instrument, based on the float
principle, even operates reliably with CIP/SIP
processes - cleaning liquids and elevated tem-
peratures do not have any negative influence.
The guide tube is directly welded to the process
connection. This leads to a crevice-free joint
between the connection and the measuring cell,
without the need for additional seals.
The 4 ... 20 mA output of the sensor, also
available with HART protocol, transmits the
signal even over long distances. The level is
displayed proportional to volume or height. No
calibration is required following installation.The
sensor is suitable for SIL 2 (IEC 61508).

FLOW MEASUREMENT
Need to measure bulk transfers without compromising on accuracy? The OPTIMASS 2300 Coriolis mass flowmeter from KROHNE is the answer. Based on straight tube technology from the world leader in straight tube designs, KROHNE has developed the OPTIMASS2300, an excellent solution for bulk product transfer where the highest accuracy is required. Offering outstanding performance for mass and volume flow measurement, the OPTIMASS2300 is ideal for fiscal measurement and offers flow rates from 1,560kg/h to 2,300,000kg/h with a measuring accuracy of 0.1%. The OPTIMASS2300 is also capable of high turndown ratios, keeping flow velocities low, preventing the build-up of static in hydrocarbons and presenting a real benefit for custody transfer applications, especially in the oil and gas industry. The OPTIMASS 2300 is the first Coriolis mass flowmeter available in both Duplex and Super Duplex. KROHNE – The oil & gas industry is our world.
