Support the airport’s facility
management team to refresh a
washroom used by over 1,000
passengers per day.

Speed of delivery was a key consideration
for LPL Construction when choosing the
product supplier for this project. The
refurbishment required the washroom to
be closed over a period of seven weeks
so disruption was to be kept minimal.
LPL Construction vetted a number of
suppliers to ensure exact timescales could
be, and would be adhered to.
Ideal Standard provisioned the Airside
80cm washroom basin from its Armitage
Shanks brand, which incorporates an
integral shelf for necessities and a bold
splash-back to keep the wash area clean.
Made from Fine Fireclay which provides
improved tolerance for larger pieces of
sanitaryware. Its hidden pipework also
lends itself to an attractive and easy to
maintain washroom.
The large area of the basin provides
ample space for passengers without
the need to bunch up, meeting the
ergonomic challenges associated with a
high-end feel washroom.
For the sanitaryware Ideal Standard
advised matching the Airside basin with
the Contour Vitreous china bowl urinal,
which is panel-mounted and incorporates
a concealed high level cistern, pipework
and trap. The Contour urinal is designed
to be hygienic and its smooth profile
conceals the flushing inlet and waste
trap, ensuring the highest standards
of protection from infection carrying
bacteria. A timed self-rinse application
also stops bacteria build-up.
