An alternative cross-section that increases the number of on-street parking spaces is shown

on

Figure 1-29.

The drawback of this configuration is that vehicular and bicycle traffic is

restricted to one direction. Since there is no parallel roadway to accommodate the other

direction, bicycle and vehicular circulation and access would be reduced. Implementing

this alternative cross section would require further study of Depot Street’s role and design

as a major, downtown-serving transit access street (Transit Connector).
