Boil
the
above
ingredients
together;
when
cold,
add

pint
fourth-proof
brandy.

according
to
the
age
of
the
patient,
as
often
as will
be
necessary
to
effect
a
cure.

Warm
water,
sweetened
with
molasses
or
brown
sugar,
taken
freely,
will
in
many
cases
remove
cramp
in
the
stomach
when
opium
and
other
remedies
have
failed.

bloodroot,

ipecacuanha,

squill,
tincture

balsam
of Tolu,
and
pare-
goric,

is
used

is
a
valuable
mixture.
