and
senna
together
in
2 quarts

water,
enougli
to
take
the
strength
out;
then
strain
it
through
flannel
;
boil
the
tea
again
down
to
half;
then
mix
it
with
the above,
and
shake
it
well,
so
that
it
shall
be
mixed
thoroughly
while
you
put
it
into
vials.

morning
and
evening,
for
a
child 3
years
old.
The
vial
must
always
be
well
shaken
before
it
is
given,
so
that
the
sediment
is
well
mixed.

Take

drachm

alum,
and
agitate
it
well
together
with
the
white
of
an
egg.
It
is
used
in
inflammation
of
the
eyes,
to allay
heat,
and
restrain
the
flux
of
humours.
It
must
be
spread
upon
linen
and
applied
to
the
eyes,
but
should
not
be
kept
on
above
8
or
4
hours
at
a
time.
