Partner for European pipes and tubes
ArcelorMittal Tubular Europe produces
a wide range of tubes and pipes at
nine production sites across four
European countries. Seamless and
welded pipes and tubes are produced,
including electric resistance welded
(ERW), high frequency induction (HFI),
precision, cold-drawn, and both spiral
and longitudinal submerged arc welded
(HSAW and LSAW).
In 2015, ArcelorMittal Tubular Europe
delivered pipes and tubes to sectors
including energy, construction, engi-
neering and automotive. An increasing
share of its output is value-added
products, which have been developed
in cooperation with customers.
“We appreciate our long-standing cus-
tomer relationships,” said Jeyachandran
Rajasekaran, CEO of ArcelorMittal
Tubular Europe. “These relationships
endure because of our focus on con-
tinuous improvement, and our extensive
range of products which serve every
market segment. Our steady growth,
even in extremely difficult market
conditions, gives us confidence that we
can master very challenging orders and
customer demands in the future.”
ArcelorMittal Tubular Europe offers
seamless pipes with an outside diameter
ranging between 21.3 and 508mm, and
wall thicknesses up to 50mm. Access to
high-quality steels allows the company
to create pipe and tube solutions for
challenging applications.
Mills in Romania and the Czech Republic
have supplied many complex orders,
including structural tubes for the
Azerbaijan Olympic Stadium, piping
systems for theUKNavy’s flagship aircraft
carriers, and oil and gas projects around
the world. Its flexible operations enable
the company to meet the demands of
both large and small projects, including
the capability to produce individual pipes.
Recent investments have enabled the
company to extend the outside diameter
of its HSAW products up to 1,016mm.
A wide range of grades are available
in strengths up to X70, and additional
services include end preparation for
sockets, cut-to-length pipes and an
in-house coating facility.

with press fittings
When creating sprinkler fire extinguishing
systems, press fittings can be used
for both wet and dry systems. The
environmental conditions in the location
where the sprinkler fire extinguishing
systems will be installed are the first
factors to be taken into consideration
when choosing whether to use the wet
or dry type of system.
Most sprinkler fire extinguishing systems
are created using a wet system – the
system is permanently filled with water
under pressure. However, if the room
temperature can reach a point where
water dispensing is not possible, dry
systems must be used.
Dry sprinkler fire extinguishing
systems are used in all areas where
the continuous presence of water
inside the pipes could compromise its
dispensing. This mainly refers to areas
with very low temperatures, where
there is a risk that the water could
freeze, such as garages, warehouses
and areas without heating.
There are also special areas such as
laboratories and refrigerated cells,
where the temperature is forced below
zero.
Problems also occur with the opposite
situation, in areas where the temperature
could become so high that the water is
vaporised.
Eurotubi Pressfitting has received
various certifications throughout the
world for its fire extinguishing product
lines.
The company’s catalogue lists two
variants for sprinkler fire extinguishing
systems: carbon steel – special fittings
and pipes that are galvanised inside
and out; and stainless steel – pipes and
fittings made of AISI 316L. Both ranges
are available in diameters from 22 to
108mm.
