Chief
Of the Tribes,
All their insignia
Are held secure
In your limbs
And all their given powers
Of creation, destruction
And preservation
Are stored in you
For all
And for ever –
These are the lost children
Of Material Nature,
Whose transmitted lore
Is sheltered
In you,
Her Chosen Guardian –
In the deepest peace
Of the eternal forest,
Agni silently glows
At your crown,
As you amble and pace
In your gentle dance
Of reverence
And profound
Tenderness…
