The fifth annual Cross Keys Bank
EMPLOYEE DAY celebration was a
resounding success. This year the
theme of the event was Luck O’ The
Keys and the Welcoming Committee
made sure everyone was presented
with a gift bag including a kelly green
shirt with logo. After the annual group
photograph, employees were divided
into two groups for bingo and a spirited
game of kick ball. This was perhaps
too spirited as Sharon O’Briant of the
Mortgage Department fell and broke
her leg! [She is healing well.]
Lunch was catered by Danken
Trail and consisted of fried
fish with all the trimmings.
After lunch, Michael Vizard,
President and CEO of CKB,
welcomed his staff and began the
spirited process of drawing tickets for
the various door prizes. He stated that,
“Our employeesare themost important
asset of Cross Keys Bank. Today is all
about letting them know howmuch we
appreciate their hard work.”
Employee Day is also the time at which
we say goodbye to retiring co-workers
and acknowledge the longevity of
others. Retirees, Mrs. Brenda Mize
and Mrs. Ellen Jones were both given
watches in gratitude for their years
of service at the bank. Numerous
other
employees
were
awarded
certificates commemorating years of
employment.
The highlight of the Awards process
was presenting the CKB Employee of
theYear Award for 2013. This employee
most embodies the spirit of Cross
Keys Bank by demonstrating Service,
Integrity and Honor. Nominees for
this award are received anonymously
from co-workers. This year’s recipient
is Kelly Coates, Branch Manager at the
West Monroe office on McMillan Road.
Congratulations, Kelly! In addition to
managing the West Monroe
branch, Kelly is mother of two
and married to Jamie Coates, a
police officer with the Monroe
Police Department.
