Pagid/Textar Supersessions
T
here have been a lot
of questions regarding
supersessions from the
network in recent weeks,
so we have written an article
illustrating what’s involved.
Supersessions are placed
against part numbers where the
purchasing department have
made a change based upon
numerous factors.
How does it work? The System
will clear stock of the “Old” part
number, before the “New” part
numbers come into the profiling.
This is to reduce the number of
part numbers that are not selling
and gathering dust. This in the
long run, will reduce the number
of excess stock that is held on
a branch’s shelf and maintain a
suitable profile for each individual
branch, without clogging up
space with redundant stock.
You need to supply the Textar reference. If you go through TopCat,
you will see stock of the Textar, but not the Pagid:
If you have any questions regarding supersessions please contact the braking PM team:

through K8 so you will
see the following message
if you try to book out
the Pagid 101 59 0348
(in this scenario):
This is down to the supersession chain. Never lose the sale, select
the Textar part and sell it. You can see that the Textar part is actually
cheaper than the Pagid version – this is because we wouldn’t want
the customer to pay more for the part number that it is superseded to.
