THE MIXICOLOGIST.

Fine Lemonade for Parties.

(One gallon.)

Take the rind of 8 lemons.

Juice of 12 lemons.

2 pounds of loaf sugar.

I gallon boiling water.

Rub the rinds of the eight lemons on the sugar

until it has absorbed all the oil from them, and put

it with the remainder of the sugar into a jug; add

the lemon juice (but no pips), and pour over the

whole the boiling water. When the sugar is dis

solved strain the lemonade through a piece of mus

lin, and when cool it will be read}' for use. The

lemonade will be much improved by having the

whites of four eggs beaten up with it. A larger or

smaller quantity of this can be made by increasing

or diminishing the ingredients used.

TOASTS AND SENTIMENTS.

I'll toast America's daughters—let all fill their glasses

Whose beauty and virtue the whole world surpasses.

May blessings attend them,go wherever they uill.

And foul fall the man that e'er offers them ill.

Lovely woman—man's best and dearc_- gift of life.

Love to one,friendship to a. few,and good-will to all.

May every woman have a protector, but not a tj'rant.

Here's to the man who never lets his tongue cut his own

throat

Here's to the man who never quarrels with his bread and

butter.

Here's to the man who never looks a gift horse in the

mouth.
