Open Systems International (OSI)
has won a contract from
Vermont Electric Cooperative
(VEC) to provide a new smart
grid SCADA system for its
Vermont service territory.
VEC’s intent for this project is to
integrate SCADA functionality
with existing advanced meter
infrastructure (AMI), outage
management system (OMS),
geographic information system
(GIS), and integrated voice
response system (IVRS) technology
to build an integration platform
for implementation of smart grid
initiatives.
The new SCADA system will be
based on OSI’s multi-platform
open network ARCHitecture
automation platform, and
is set to include the advanced
functionality of OSI’s next-gener-
ation. NET based graphical user
interface.
It will also include OSI’s real-time
and historical trending; historical
information system and data
archiving; disturbance data
collection and virtual remote
telemetry unit software products,
with MultiSpeak 3.0 interoperable
monarch interfaces to VEC’s
existing AMI, OMS, GIS and IVRS
systems.
