A letter was read from the Hon. the Chief

Justice appointing the following members of

the Council to be the Statutory Committee

for the year ending 26th November, 1940-

Mr. W. Gordon Bradley, Mr. John J. Duggan,

Mr. M. E. Knight, Mr. James J. Lynch,

Mr. D. J. Reilly, Mr. Henry P. Mayne and

Mr. Peter O'Connor.

Solicitors' Indemnity Insurance.

A draft form of Solicitors'

Indemnity

Insurance Policy, applicable for use in Eire,

was submitted by a firm of Insurance Brokers

inviting the approval of the Council o/ same—

The Council declined to give its approval.

THE SOUTHERN LAW ASSOCIATION.

Mr. Barry St. J. Galvin of 36 South Mall,

Cork, has been elected President of

the

Association, for 1939-40.

THE INCORPORATED LAW SOCIETY

OF NORTHERN IRELAND.

Mr. Charles Thorn of 41 Royal Avenue,

Belfast, has been elected President of the

Society for 1939-40.

OBITUARY.

MR. JAMES A. DOYLE, Solicitor, died on

the 6th December, 1939, at Dublin.

Mr. Doyle was admitted in Easter Sittings,

1884, and practised at Limerick up to 1935,

when he retired.

MR. ALLEN G. MULLEN, Solicitor, died on

the 9th December, 1939, at his residence,

Glenree, Holycross, Thurles.

Mr. Mullen served his apprenticeship with

the late Mr. Henry K. Toomey, Athy, was

admitted

in Easter Sittings,

1925,

and

practised at Thurles.
