will, for the most part be a young
and highly talented squad. The
team will be composed of eighteen swim–
mers and four divers. Of the twenty-two
members, only three are seniors and two
are juniors. The remaining are sophomores
or freshmen.
This years strength was the backstroke
and the breaststroke. Shelley Otto is the
leading backstroker at USO. She is the
USO record holder for both 100 and 200
yards as well as the 50 and 100 freestyle.
Mary Bergen will anchor the breastrokers.
Tracy Child
will be
best in the medley
events. Strong in all strokes, she is best in
the 200 IM event. Three freshmen and a
sophomore will lead in the diving. Abby
Curnow, Sarah Mrachek, Debbie Vidosic,
and Kristin Parker. From this lineup, the
USO swim team showed competition that
they are truly capable to compete in the
best divisions.
