DHYAANA
(MEDITATION - UNION WITH GODHEAD
"Dhiyo yonah prachodayat"
We meditate upon the supreme effulgence
of the Divine creative sun, that he may give
impulse to our intelligence.
Rig Veda,
III. 62.10
Translation by David Frawley
(Vamadeva Shastri)
Grow in love, meditating on the Em-
bodiment of Love, called Krishna. When the
heart has not melted and softened to the cry
of distress, when the fountain of love
therein is blocked with the tinsels of pride,
Krishna will not play the flute in your ear.
You may claim to have spent decades in the
service of Krishna, but, without the key of
love you cannot gain entrance to the
Go-
Loka
where he resides.
After long searches here and there, in
temples and in churches, in earths and in
heavens, at last you coarse back. Com-
pleting the circle from where you started,
to your own soul and find that He for whom
you have been seeking all over the world,
for whom you have been weeping and
praying in churches and temples, on whom
you were looking as the mystery of all
mysteries shrouded in the clouds in near-
est of the near, is your ownself, the reality
of your life, body and soul. That is your
own nature. Assert it, manifest it. It is
truth and truth alone, that is one's real
friend, relative. Abide by truth tread the
path of religious inquiry.
Meditation is nothing else but rising above
desires; renunciation is the power of bat-
tling against evil forces and holding the
mind in check.

ATTAINMENT
The three states of Man (Waking, Sleep and
Dream states)
The mind gets fixed during the time of
sleep. Whether a person concentrates his
mind or not, whether a person does
Ishvar-
abhakti
or not, automatically the mind gets
happiness during the time of sleep. When the
man gets up in the morning for a few minutes
immediately after getting up, his mind is
peaceful and calm and quiet. Inside the body
of every living being, there is some
Shakthi
or
power. This is the
jeevaatman,
during the
sleep, the
jeevaatman
gets merged in the
Paramaatman.
“Only when one is able to combine the
waking, dreaming and deep sleep states,
or combine the gross, the subtle and the
causal aspects of the body into one, that
one will get a chance of having a glimpse of
the divine soul.”
