valley, discover the Des
Granges goose farm on
the way out of the village
and a little further, the
Prehistoparc Discovery
trail. Continue until the
Maison Forte at Reignac,
a fully furnished castle
hewn into the cliff.
CAMPAGNE (6 km)
Recently redesigned in
XIXth century English
garden style, Campagne
Castle’s park is
overlooked by a public
forest ideal for hiking
(walking, mountain
biking) rock climbing,
caving, etc.
SAINT-CIRQ (6 km)
Under the cliff on the right
bank of the Vézère River,
this traditional village
features a church with a
distinctive wall belfry.
Paleolithic cave men
painted the walls of the
“witches” cave,
17,000 years ago with
anthropomorphic
figures extremely rare
for that era.
LIMEUIL
The old mariners inland port, a medieval village at the confluence
of the Dordogne and Vézère rivers, has travelled down through
the centuries, remaining intact within the walls of its fortifications.
