Neighbourhood Enhancement Grant
for financial support for your project!

EQUIPMENT
We can help make your next local
community event a success! If you’re
planning something like a block party,
festival, outdoor music performance,
neighbourhood clean-up or art jam,
you can borrow a tent, tables, chairs,
Block Party traffic barriers and even a
portable sound system.

Nature Work Party
Drop in on Saturday afternoons and
work alongside other nature lovers to
help enhance habitat for wildlife and

to remove invasive plants, plant trees
and shrubs and more. Meet new
people, earn volunteer hours, and
give back to your community. Nature
Work Parties are open to volunteers
of all ages (parental supervision
required for volunteers under 13 years
of age). All tools, instructions, and
refreshments provided.

Tree Planting Program
Help grow the urban forest this April
by planting a shade tree. Gather your
neighbours, your class or community
group and give us a call to make a
request to plant trees in a park or on
a boulevard near you! Releaf is free,
and all equipment and instruction
is provided. Due to the large size
of the trees, children 10 and up are
welcome. Or, drop in and join us at an
all ages Neighborhood Tree Party on
Wednesday evenings!

Join the Surrey Youth
Stewardship Squad
SYSS is a volunteer group for high
school youth ages 13 - 17 who love
nature and want to do their part
to protect it. Our projects include
removing invasive plants, planting
native trees and shrubs, and raising
environmental awareness in Surrey.

projects? Get involved with SYSS
and make them happen.

Lend-a-Hand
Calling all elementary and secondary
teachers! Teach your students about
social responsibility and the value
of volunteering by adopting a local
park during the school year. This free
parks program includes an interactive
30-minute orientation and all litter
pick-up supplies.
