ANNUAL
CERTIFICATES
Members are reminded that Annual Certifi
cates for the year ending the 5th day of
January, 1944, should be taken out and the
duties paid thereon before the 6th day of
February, 1943.
Members are recommended to keep in safe
custody their Certificates when stamped, so
that the Certificates will be ready for pro
duction when required, and Dublin Agents
of country solicitors should communicate
with their correspondents as to the taking
out of Certificates.

Statutory Committee.
A letter was read from the Hon. the Chief
Justice appointing the following members of
the Council to be the Statutory Committee
for the year ending 26th November, 1943 :—
Mr. E. F. Collins, Mr. John B. Hamill,
Mr. M. E. Knight, Mr. James J. Lynch,
Mr. Henry P. Mayne, Mr. G. A. Overend
and Mr. Jasper Travers Wolfe.

OBITUARY.
MR. THOMAS C. WYLIE, Solicitor, died
on 3rd December, 1942, at his residence,
" Ashmere," Culmore, Londonderry.
Mr. \Yvlie was admitted in Hilary Sittings,
1893, and practised at Londonderry.
MR. JAMES C. MCGIFFORD, Solicitor, died
on 17th December, 1942, at his residence,
Locksley Park, Finaghy, Co. Antrim.
Mr. McGifford served his apprenticeship
to the late Mr. Joseph Lockhart, of Lisburn,
was admitted in Hilary Sittings, 1904, and
practised at Lisburn.
MR. Louis J. WALSH, Solicitor, died on
27th December, 1942, at Letterkenny.
Mr. Walsh served his apprenticeship to
the late Mr. John Harbison, of Magherafelt,
was .admitted
in Hilary Sittings,
1905,
•and practised at Ballycastle until the year
1923, when he was appointed a District
Justice for County Donegal.
He was a
distinguished author and playwright.
He
was interned .in Ballykinlar by the British
authorities in the years 1920 and 1921.
