bank was registered as a body corporate in Eire.

In the case of a bank not so registered the grant

was made to a syndic appointed by resolution

of the Board of Directors to act on behalf of the

bank. One of the consequences of this has been

that where a bank not registered as a body

corporate in Eire was appointed to act jointly as

co-executor, either the bank or the other executor

had to renounce the right to the grant here, as a

grant will not be issued in the joint names of a

syndic and another person.

Following the principle laid down in this case the

President of the High Court on the llth July,

1943, made an Order the effect of which is that

in future a duly qualified Body Corporate, which is

corporate within England, Scotland, Wales or

Northern Ireland, may apply for and obtain a

grant, either through a syndic, nominee or attor

ney, or in its corporate title as it may elect;

but no such body having a registered place of

business within Eire may act through an attorney

in obtaining such a grant.

This procedure will

not, without further order, apply to any body

corporate which is corporate outside Eire and

outside the areas above mentioned.
