U.S. The International Sales
Manager of a cutlery manufacturer
will be making a presentation to his
Board o n hi s return. Finally a
marketing specialist i n a regular
visit to Ireland now expects to start
"some kind of business deal" as a
result of the Conference.
It will be some time before any
kind of guesstimate can be made
about concrete results flowing
from the Conference, i f indeed i t
can ever be measured. Tracing the
genesis of a business initiative and
following its outcome may not be
a precise science. Even so, the
decision has been made to make
the attempt and in a year or so i t
may be possible to be more specific
about whether — good relation-
ships apart, and the value of these
is not to be minimised — the very
considerable work involved has been
worthwhile. Certainly we hammered
home the central message that the
country desperately needs jobs,
and it would not take many of these
to justify the enterprise. •
