Nancy and I would like to wish all of you a very Happy New Year. We are extremely excited
about this year at NCYC and hope you are as well. The bar refinishing project is on schedule
and will be ready to install once we can access the island. The new walkway and door for
egress into the cooler and a few other projects will also start in the spring. We will be posting
Fanouts this spring when the Elite brigade work parties start. Please plan on making one or
more of these Saturdays. Your help is always greatly appreciated.
We have a lot of great events planned this year starting with the Commodore’s Ball, January
21st at the Concorde Inn. I would like to thank my wife Nancy for all the time and hard work
she has put into the planning and execution of this special event. If you have not returned your
response, please do, there is plenty of room and this is one party you do not want to miss.
Please take a look at the events calendar and plan on attending as many events as you can,
you won’t regret it.
I am looking forward to our first board meeting of the new year and welcome Glenn Nixon,
Dale Hall and Ron Draper as new Directors and Ian Blackburn as our new Rear Commodore. I
also would like to welcome back the remaining Directors and Flag. I am honored and eager to
start working with this fine group towards improving our club, making it better for all of you.
If you are interested in taking a week as manager, we still have five weeks open. Team up
with another couple and volunteer for a week. After all, member participation is what makes
our club what it is.
As your Commodore, I want to thank you for your support and confidence. With your help,
we will make 2017 a great year at NCYC.
