Marie and I would like to take this opportunity in wishing everyone a Happy New Year. We
hope that you had the chance to spend time with family and friends during the holiday
season. With each New Year we get a fresh, clean page to start over. Here’s hoping that life
writes a beautiful new chapter for you and your family this year.
We have an exciting NCYC year ahead of us. Kicking it off in style on January 21st is the Ball
to honor Commodore Pat Carroll and his lady Nancy. I know they have planned an elegant
evening at the Concord Inn and we are looking forward to P/C Stroh’s choice for the Spirit
award and Member of the year. I know it will not be an easy decision with all the remarkable
efforts put forth during the 2016 season by outstanding members.
I would like to welcome P/C Tom McHugh, Dale Hall, Ron Draper, Glen Nixon and Don
Ruma to the 2017 Board of Directors. I am looking forward to working together.
As the New Year has arrived, I cannot help but go back in time and think of all the fun times
we had in 2016. All would not have been possible without the incredible dedication of
wonderful families. I would like to thank P/C Chuck and his lady Sandi for a great year. I
would also like to recognize P/C Brian McEvoy, Frank Corcoran, Brent Malik and John
Sweier, for their gifts of time and talent they gave NCYC, it was a pleasure serving with you.
As I reflect on 2016, I can’t help but think of the wonderful members we lost. They were
amazing and will not be forgotten. Rest in Peace my friends, you will be greatly missed.
