International Wire and Cable Symposium will take place at the Charlotte
Convention Center, Charlotte, North Carolina from 8

provides important networking opportunities and a forum for the presentation of new
wire and cable technologies and trends using a blend of professional development courses
and authoritative speakers.
This year’s keynote speakers, appearing at the plenary session luncheon, will be led by Dr Robert Fry, senior
economist with DuPont, talking about the economic outlook for the industry. This will be followed by three
speakers from CRU Research, London, beginning with an introduction to market dynamics from John Segal.
Rob Daniels will follow, with a talk entitled, “The global metallic cable industry – where does it go from
here?” and the speakers’ session will conclude with “And the last shall be first: how the emerging markets are
reshaping the fibre and cable industry,” the intriguingly titled presentation from Patrick Fay.
Engineers and scientists from major companies will present their latest research and developments in one
of two formats, either as formal lecture-style sessions or as part of the popular poster sessions that allow for
one-to-one exchange between author and attendee. The exhibit floor, featuring dozens of leading suppliers
