53

getting bored, don’t give up—find something different to do! Try

yoga if you’ve just been doing crunches. Or find a workout video

online that introduces some new exercises into your workout. The

more fun your workout is, the more likely you’ll keep going.

• Keep track of your progress. Write down how long you exercised

and what you did after every workout. You’ll be amazed at the

progress you make over a few weeks and months. When you

look back at where you started, you’ll be inspired to keep going

because you know you can accomplish a lot.

PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER

Now that you’ve got some goals and a plan to stay motivated, you

need to decide on just how you’re going to go about working out your

core. People who plan their workouts ahead of time are more likely to

be successful over the long term. The three main decisions you need to

make are what sort of exercises you’re going to do, when you’re going

to do them, and the length of time you’re going to do them.
