WITh the MSD diameter gauges,

Zumbach electronic has introduced a

new series of measuring heads for on-line

diameter and ovality measurement and

control.

This

new

line

complements

the

high-precision laser diameter measuring

heads of the oDAC® series.

The MSD models achieve their ideal

efficiency in terms of price and

performance specifically for applications

in the plastics, rubber and cable industry

for extruded tubes, pipes, hoses, cables

and similar.

The experience of 57 years with on-line

and off-line measurement and control

technology has led to a product

characterised by the most current

and

sophisticated

technology

and

functionality as well as by the well-known

Zumbach accuracy and reliability.

Thanks to this linear sensor technology

(patent pending), it was possible to build

very compact yet accurate measuring

heads.

unique

measurement

technology

for products up to 200mm external

diameter:

• A new product line with two-coloured

LeD

light

sources

allowing

simultaneous scanning in each axis

(XY*) and trouble-free measurement

even with product vibration

• Integrated extraneous light filters

prevent occurrence of measurement

errors

that,

to

date,

seemed

unavoidable

• perfect performance even with

reflective surfaces thanks to the use

of different colour lighting for each

measurement axis

* This new concept allows even a 4-axis

measurement of products up to diameter

54mm.

Ajex & Turner has developed a new

carbide die polishing and re-cutting

machine with a high frequency spindle.

Suitable for repair and production of

round tungsten carbide drawing dies with

bores ranging 0.5-25mm

, this advanced

conception allows it to grind and polish

both the conical and cylindrical parts of

die geometry.

The air-driven grinding spindle offers

60,000rpm with true running, and with

an accuracy of 0.005 microns the spindle

with the variable speed has following

advantages:

• high speed provides more accuracy in

roundness of dies

• Superior surface finish

• No

unequal

bearing length

• A close tole-

rance of 0.005

microns can be

achieved

• high production

levels

• Good

The TCD V-9 is

ideally suitable for

in-house polishing

and regrinding of

round

tungsten

carbide dies, but can also be used for

polishing heading dies and extrusion dies.

Both reduction zone parallel cylindrical

portions with same angular pin can be

worked upon, whilst both chuck rotation

and spindle reciprocating speeds are

variable and adjustable according to the

die sizes.

Glass protection will be provided for user

protection.

Consumables supplied free of cost for 300

dies are:

• Diamond paste/suspension

• Diamond angular pins

• Steel pins of 3mm and 6mm in 6° and

12°
