LONG TERM DISABILITY
Long Term Disability is intended to protect your income for a long duration. The City of O’Fallon provides this benefit to
you at
no cost.
After the 90th day of an illness or injury, you may be eligible for long term disability benefits through Aetna. The disability
benefit is a monthly benefit and covers 60% of your monthly salary to a maximum of $5,000. This benefit may be paid to
Social Security retirement age or until you no longer meet the definition of disability. You are considered disabled if you
have a loss of duties in regards to your regular occupation due to an illness or injury. After 24 months, benefits continue if
you cannot perform any gainful occupation for which you would be reasonably fitted considering education, training, and
experience. You must be under the care of a doctor. Please refer to the plan summary for detailed information on this
