CALL TRANSFER

Easily transfer a call to another number, or add

a 3rd person to a call before you bow out of the

conversation.

To transfer a call:

1. Press and quickly release the “switchhook” to

place the person you’re talking with on hold.

2. Listen for dial tone, then dial the third person’s

phone number.

3. When the third person answers, you can

talk privately before making it a three-way

conversation.

4. Complete the transfer by pressing and releasing

the switchhook, enabling you to talk with both

people at the same time.

5. If you hang up, the other two people can continue

their conversation.

To cancel the transfer:

1. You can cancel the transfer at any time if the 3rd

person did not answer, you received a busy signal

or recording, or you wish to cancel after talking

with the 3rd person. Simply press and release the

switchhook twice, and you’ll be reconnected to the

person holding.

CALL WAITING

When you’re on the phone, a special tone alerts

you to a waiting call. The person calling hears

normal ringing.

To answer a waiting call:

1. A special tone tells you a second call is waiting.

2. Press and quickly release the switchhook to place

the first caller on hold, while you connect with the

second caller.

3. To return to the first call, press and release the

switchhook again. You can alternate between the

calls.

To end either call:

1. Hang up, and your phone will ring.

2. When you answer, you’ll be connected with the

remaining caller.

To “Cancel Call Waiting” before making a call:

1. Lift the handset and listen for a dial tone.

2. Press “

70” (rotary phones, dial “1170”).

3. Listen for the confirmation tone.

4. Place your call, which will not be interrupted by

the Call Waiting tone. Other callers will hear a

busy signal.

5. After you hang up, Call Waiting will automatically

turn on again.

To “Cancel Call Waiting” during a call:

1. Press and release the switchhook.

2. Press “

70” (rotary phone, dial “1170”).

3. Listen for the confirmation tone. You’ll automatically

be reconnected to your call.

4. After you hang up, Call Waiting automatically turns

on again.

SPEED CALLING

Quickly dial eight of your most frequently called

numbers.

To program your Speed Calling list:

1. Lift the handset & listen for the dial tone.

2. Press “

74” (rotary phone dial “1174”). Wait for

the dial tone.

3. Dial a one-digit speed code. (Choose any number,

2 through 9).

4. Dial the phone number you wish to assign to that

speed code.

5. Press the “#” key. (Rotary phones wait 4 seconds

after dialing).

To call someone on your Speed Calling list:

1. Lift the handset & listen for the dial tone.

2. Dial the one-digit speed code, then press the

“#” key. (On a rotary phone, wait 4 seconds after

dialing).

To change your Speed Calling list:

1. Lift the handset & listen for the dial tone.

2. Press “

74” (rotary phone dial “1174”). Wait for

the dial tone.

3. Dial the one-digit speed code you wish to change.

4. Listen for the cancellation tone, then the dial tone.

Calling list.

THREE-WAY CALLING

Add a third person to a call without Operator

assistance.

To add a third person to the call:

1. Press & quickly release the switchhook to place

the first caller on hold.

2. Listen for dial tone, then dial the third person’s

phone number.

3. When the third person answers, you can talk pri-

vately before making it a three-way conversation.

4. Complete the 3-way connection by pressing and

releasing the switchhook, enabling you to talk with

both people at the same time.

To cancel the three-way connection:

1. If the third person did not answer or you wish

to disconnect them, just press & release the

switchhook, and you’ll be reconnected to the

person holding.

2. Or if either of the other two people hang up, you

can continue talking with the remaining person.

To end the call completely:

1. Simply hang up.

WARM LINE

Your phone can automatically dial an emergency

number even when you can’t dial the phone.

To use this feature:

1. Lift the handset and wait 30 seconds.

2. The pre-designated number is automatically

dialed. Note: You must select the number to be

dialed when you sign up for this service. To change

this number, contact MTCO.

To prevent automatic dialing:

1. Begin dialing within 30 seconds of lifting the

handset.
