ANONYMOUS CALL REJECTION

Refuse calls from those who have blocked their

number from your Caller I.D. display.

To turn on the service:

1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.

2. Press “

77” (rotary phones, dial “1177”).

3. Listen for the confirmation tone or announcement.

Hang up.

To turn off the service:

1. Press “

87” (rotary phones, dial “1187”).

2. Listen for the confirmation tone or announcement.

Hang up.

CALLER I.D. -

NAME & NUMBER DELIVERY

When you receive a call, the name & number of the

person calling is shown on your Caller I.D. display

screen.

1. When you receive a call, wait until after the first

ring.

2. The telephone number of the caller and the name

associated with that number will appear on your

screen.

3. If you choose to answer the call, the name and

number will remain until you or the caller hangs

up.

4. If “P” or “Private” appears on the screen, the caller

may have blocked the display (“

67”) before

placing the call. You can choose whether or not to

answer the call.

5. If “unknown” or “out of area” appears the caller is

in an area that does not support Calling Number

services.

CALLER I.D. ON CALL WAITING

When you’re on the phone, a special tone alerts

you to a waiting call. The name and number of the

person calling is shown on your Caller I.D. on Call

Waiting display screen.*

1. After you hear the call waiting tone, the name

and number of the waiting party appears on your

display unit.*

2. If you choose to answer the second call, press and

release the switchhook to place the first caller on

hold.

3. To return to the first call, press and release the

switchhook again. You can alternate between the

calls.

To end either call:

1. Hang up, and your phone will ring.

2. When you answer, you’ll be connected with the

remaining caller.

*NOTE: Your Caller I.D. unit must be “Call Waiting”

compatible in order for this feature to properly

work.

CUSTOMER ORIGINATED TRACE

Identify harassing callers by dialing a simple code

to trace the call through the telephone company

records.

1. When you receive a nuisance call, press and

release the switchhook. Listen for a special tone.

2. If you’ve already hung up, lift the handset and

listen for dial tone.

3. Press “

57” (rotary phones, dial “1157”).

4. Listen for the announcement, confirming a

successful trace.

5. Hang up.

6. The number traced will be recorded at the phone

company. If you decide to follow up on the

matter, we can provide the number to the local

authorities.

CALL WAITING -

DISTINCTIVE RINGING

When you list special callers, your phone uses a

special ring to announce calls from any of those

numbers.

1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.

2. Press “

61” (rotary phones, dial “1161”).

3. Listen for an announcement telling you whether

the feature is currently on or off and how many (if

any) numbers are currently stored in your list.

4. Follow the voice instructions and dial “3” to turn

the feature ON or OFF.

To add the last caller to your list:

1. Press “#01#” (rotary phones, dial “1201”).

To hear the phone numbers on your list:

1. Dial “1” then listen to the voice instructions which

follow.

To add a number to your list:

1. Press “#” (rotary phones, dial “12”).

2. Follow the voice instructions, storing up to 31

numbers.

To remove a number from your list:

1. Press “

” (rotary phones, dial “11”).

2. Follow the voice instructions to remove any or

all numbers.

To hear the instructions again:

1. Dial “0”.

SELECTIVE CALL ACCEPTANCE

Decide which calls you will accept. Others will hear

an announcement that you’re not receiving calls at

this time.

To turn on the service:

1. Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.

2. Press “

64” (rotary phones, dial “1164”).

3. Listen for an announcement telling you whether

the feature is currently ON or OFF and how many

(if any) numbers are currently stored in your

acceptance list.

4. Follow the voice instructions and dial “3” to turn

the feature ON or OFF.

To add the last caller to your acceptance list:

1. Press “#01#” (rotary phones, dial “1201”).

To hear the phone numbers on your list:

1. Dial “1” then listen to the voice instructions

which follow.

To add a number to your list:

1. Press “#” (rotary phones, dial “12”).

2. Follow the voice instructions, storing up to 31

numbers.

To remove a number from your list:

1. Press “

” (rotary phones, dial “11”).

Enhanced Calling Features
