Lifeline

You May Be Eligible For Assistance

With Your Telecommunications Bill

LIFELINE

is a federal government program that enables qualified low-income applicants

to receive a discount for telecommunications service. Applicants meeting certain

eligibility criteria are able to receive a monthly federal discount of $9.25 (for Voice or

Broadband Internet) and a state discount of $6.50 (for Voice or a service bundle of

Voice and Broadband) for a total monthly discount of up to $15.75. Toll blocking is

available at no charge to all eligible

To be eligible for

, an applicant must participate in one of the following:

A.

MO HealthNet (f/k/a Medicaid)

B.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (Food Stamps)

C.

Supplemental Security Income

D.

Veterans and Survivors Pension Benefit

E.

Federal Public Housing Assistance (Section 8)

F.

135% of the Federal Poverty Level

ONLY ONE LIFELINE OR DISABLED SERVICE IS

AVAILABLE PER HOUSEHOLD.

Disabled customers or customers with a disabled dependent

may qualify for $6.50 in monthly support through the MoUSF.
