DUNDUN (AFRICAN BASS DRUM) CLASS

African Bass Drums, or Dunduns, typically are played with one hand

playing a bell pattern, while the other hits the drum skin. We will ex-

plore the bass drum playing technique and will learn simple patterns

which, when put together, will surprise us with their power and inten-

sity. Participants must provide their own “drum”; please contact Mon-

ica for details on how to assemble one before the first class.
