Quality inspection and process control

in automotive tubes

Contrôle Mesure Systèmes, a specialist

in non-destructive testing methods

for more than 25 years, has proposed

several solutions for automotive tubes

production.

Double wall seamless tubes for

braking systems require quality control

during the process to withstand the

pressure.

A system developed by CMS

continuously checks the swimmer

elongation during the tube production

phase to allow correction of the

calibration position in the past roll,

avoiding production of defective tubes

and allowing increased productivity.

For junction detection on copper

alloy double wall tubes for air cooling

and break circuitry, eddy current

instruments that inspect 12 lines

simultaneously are connected to the

PLC of the line, to manage a cutter

for rejecting defective junctions. The

systems meet quality standards such

as API, ASTM and DIN.

Through its products and remote

assistance, Contrôle Mesure Systèmes

provides quality and productivity

solutions for automotive tube

applications around the world.

Spray foam and elastomeric coatings

for the oil and gas industry

Demilec, a manufacturer of spray foam

insulation and polyurea products, has

introduced two new products – Geolok

and MaxGuard SLAM 250 – to make

oil and gas pipeline construction,

containment and industry processes

easier, safer and more durable.

Geolok, a polyurethane spray foam,

helps field workers create pipe pillows,

trench breakers and rock shields during

pipeline construction.

It eliminates the common practice

of sandbag laying, and reduces the

number of workers needed from as

many as ten to only two: one to operate

the spray gun and another managing

the back of the rig.

The foam sprays continuously without

combustion, preserves the integrity of

pipelines, and has a quick and durable

application process.

MaxGuard SLAM 250, an elastomeric

spray coating, is often used for

secondary containment, a major part

of any oil and gas drilling site. The two-

component, fast-set coating results

in a durable lining that can be used

to make in-ground or above-ground

constructed ponds. Other uses include

tank and pipe protection, concrete

and metal rehabilitation projects and

abrasion resistance. MaxGuard SLAM

250 has no VOC emissions and is

impact resistant.

“Demilec is actively creating innovative

products to meet the unique needs

of many niche industries, ranging

from oil and gas to agriculture,” said

Paul Herrera, director of marketing at

Demilec. “After much research, we

created MaxGuard SLAM 250 and

Geolok to improve speed, safety and

durability on oil and gas job sites.”
