The Chairman then introduced Mr Robert Windle (Peterborough Referees Association) to the floor.
Mr Robert Windle addressed member clubs on the current structure of developing Referees, including the new role of the
Select Group of Referees going out to game in addition to the regular referee monitors, to assist new referees in their
development. The aim is to provide not only referee coverage on every fixture, but also the quality of refereeing. In addition to
the local Peterborough Leagues funding of Referees, additional funding had been secured through Northamptonshire FA and
Vivacity. The success of the present refereeing structure in the area has again lead to a number of local young referees
officiating in tournaments around the world, including China, Croatia and Spain.
Lines Persons Courses were to be held at various clubs to help with the understanding of assisting the referees when running
the line. Further information on up-coming courses or if your club would like to hold a course in their area then please contact

Presidents closing remarks:
The President thanked the Focus Centre for allowing the use of their facilities to hold the League’s Annual General Meeting.
The Clubs were asked to play their games as early as possible, including early season mid-week evening games if they so wish,
to try and avoid the inclement weather usually experienced over the winter period and due to the size of the divisions, thus
causing less fixture problems towards the end of the season.
The President also added that it was not all about winning, unfortunately there has to be losers.
There can only be one winner without the also rans there would be no Leagues.
There being no other business the meeting closed at 8.10pm.
