PWM Ltd
Booth 104
PWM’s best-selling M101 cold welder and other
manuallyoperatedmodels from itscomprehensive
range will be in action at Booth 104 at this year’s
IWCS in Rhode Island, from 9
th
to 12
th
November.
Represented by Joe Snee Associates, exclusive
distributor for PWM’s machines, spares and dies in
the USA and Canada, visitors are invited to watch
demonstrations of the cold welding technique
and try out the machines for themselves.
The versatile M101 cold welder for bonding
copper wire 0.04" to 0.141" (1mm to 3.6mm) and
aluminum 0.04" to 0.197" (1mm to 5mm) is also
commonly used to weld profiles and strips for
armouring lines. Low maintenance and simple
to operate, the M101 can be used either on a
workbench or supplied with a trolley, enabling
the operator to wheel it quickly to the work area,
saving effort and reducing downtime.
PWM’s smaller BM10 and BM30 manual welders
are robust, reliable machines, designed for
non-ferrous wire and strip 0.0039" to 0.071" (0.1mm
to 1.8mm).
They can also be used on aworkbench or supplied
with a trolley. The M10, M25 and M30 hand-held
models will weld copper/aluminum wire 0.0039" to
0.071" (0.1mm to 1.8mm).
Comfortable to hold and quick and easy to
use, they are suitable for welding wire breaks in
confined spaces.
PWM’s range also includes air/hydraulic, electro/
hydraulic, pneumatic and electro/pneumatic
powered cold welders, for wire and rod up
to 25mm (0.984") copper and 30mm (1.181")
aluminum.
PWM’s cold welding equipment is designed and
made to high standards in PWM’s Britishworkshops.
Dies are individually hand-made in matched sets,
in standard or custom sizes, to suit round or profile
wire.
Roblon A/S
Booth 509
The Roblon precision coiling unit offers automatic
precision winding at high speed.
The controlled positioning of products such
as cables, wires and plastic tubes provides a
uniform winding pattern with no major gaps,
which virtually eliminates product crossings in the
take-up process.
Sensors detect the flanges of the reel, and when
the product reaches the flanges the traversing
direction reverses.
By use of advanced controlling the Roblon
precision coiling unit controls and monitors the
tension by which the product is being placed on
top of the previous product layer and also the
tension by which the product is being placed
evenly side by side during the take-up process.
The uniform positioning of the product means
longer lengths per reel and the possibility for
higher pay-off speed during installation and use.
The Roblon precision coiling unit eliminates very
important safety issues in the take-up process,
because manual guiding of the cable while
winding it onto the reel is no longer necessary.
As the unit is 100 percent automatic, there is
no need to spend resources on monitoring the
winding quality of the reel.
The unit is designed as a stand-alone unit
for easy integration with take-ups in new or
existing production lines. Typical application
areas are:
• OFC SZ stranding lines, to ensure the quality of
the unprotected FO-center
• sheathing lines, for perfect reel finish in in-line
production
• wire lines or rope twisting lines, for perfect reel
finish in in-line production
• rewinding lines, for perfect reel finish
